MARKET WEEK: A TOUR THROUGH THE FOOD MARKETS

Salamanca takes pride in its historic food markets, which have been the heart of local commerce for centuries. In this first edition of Market Week, we invite you to explore three of the most emblematic markets:

  • Salamanca’s Central Market: Located in Plaza del Mercado, next to the Plaza Mayor, this is the city's oldest market. Designed by architect Joaquín de Vargas y Aguirre in the early 20th century, it offers a wide variety of fresh, local products.
  • San Juan Market: Located in Plaza Julián Sánchez "El Charro," this market was renovated in 1990 and houses various stalls ranging from butcher shops to fruit stands, offering high-quality products.
  • San Bernardo Market: Located on Avenida Filiberto Villalobos, it is known for its friendly atmosphere and fresh products, serving as a meeting point for local residents.

Throughout the week, each market will offer special activities, tastings, and workshops for all audiences. Don’t miss it!
